MotionLab.Berlin
MotionLab.Berlin is Germany's official Deep Tech Hub – located in Alt-Treptow, Berlin. We run 5,500 sqm of makerspace across three campuses, eight specialist labs, and programs that take hardtech founders from first prototype to international market. Our community includes 110+ active startups, 2,000+ members, and 80+ industry partners. We host 100+ events a year, run the Hardtech Innovation Accelerator, and connect deep tech companies with the infrastructure, funding, and networks they need to scale. This is the team that makes it all work.

Your Questions
Do I need to have a background in hardware or engineering?
Not at all. While we’re a hardtech hub, our team covers a wide range of disciplines – from community management and marketing to event coordination and business development. What matters most is that you’re curious, motivated, and genuinely excited about what we do.
How does the open application process work?
Send us a short message introducing yourself, what you’re good at, and what kind of role you’re looking for. We review every application and will get back to you if we see a potential fit – either for a current opening or a future opportunity.
Do you offer internships or working student positions?
Yes, from time to time we do. If you’re a student looking to gain hands-on experience in the startup and innovation space, feel free to reach out and tell us what you’re working on and what you’d like to learn.
What does the team culture look like?
We’re a small, international team with a flat hierarchy and a lot of ownership. You won’t be handed a rigid job description – you’ll be expected to bring ideas, take initiative, and grow alongside the company. It’s fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable, and we think that’s a feature, not a bug.
Do you hire people without German language skills?
Yes. Our team and community are international, and English is widely spoken at MotionLab.Berlin. German skills are helpful for some roles, especially those involving local partnerships or administrative tasks, but they’re not a hard requirement for most positions.
How long does it take to hear back after applying?
