Hardware Doesn’t Scale through Zoom Calls
Expanding into international markets can unlock growth, fresh funding, and game-changing partnerships. However, navigating unfamiliar situations can be tricky and often requires a whole new set of skills. At MotionLab.Berlin, Germany’s rebel hub for deep tech and hardtech innovation, we’ve spent years fostering these skills and forging global connections that deliver – and we want to share both with you.

Our Berlin Goes Global Program
We connect hardware makers, climate tech thinkers, and deep tech innovators with people who get their hands dirty building the future. We know firsthand that developing hardware is brutal—and expanding internationally adds another layer of complexity that can break even the strongest startups.

That’s why we have your back and make you ready for the trip, so that your international expansion aspirations are not an expensive gamble but a strategic assault on new markets.

Global Launchpad Kick-Off:

During Tech Week, June 2–8

We’re kicking off 2025 with a tactical delegation to NYC during Tech Week, a decentralized festival drawing 75,000+ attendees across 2,000+ events. On this focused mission, you’ll get the chance to put your innovation directly in front of the people who need to see you and can help you scale.

You’ll gain raw, unfiltered insight into the U.S. tech landscape, build connections that lead somewhere, and explore concrete collaborations with investors, corporations, and public sector leaders who seek hardware solutions.

Ready to Go Global?
Applications are open for our June 2025 NYC delegation. Spots are limited to 7-10 Berlin-based startups and SMEs that are serious about international impact.

Future missions to additional markets will follow, but only for those who prove they’re ready to build globally.

Why New York Makes Sense for Hardware

NYC has become one of the most active hubs for deep tech, climate innovation, and hardtech venture capital, wanting to address urban challenges, from mobility to infrastructure to sustainability. The city offers fertile ground for pilot projects, municipal partnerships, and initial U.S. market entry. The official Tech Week program drops in late April, and we’ll ensure you’re connected to the right people and events.

Why Tech Week Actually Matters
In 2024, New York hosted over 700 events during Tech Week, making it the largest of its kind globally. The week’s decentralized format means we can cut through the noise and target exactly what matters for your specific hardware, whether you’re focused on urban mobility, climate tech, or frontier hardware.

Past Tech Weeks have featured heavyweights like Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, but we’re more interested in getting you face-to-face with the people who can deploy your technology at scale.

This is About Making, Not Talking.
New York is a city actively hunting for solutions to urgent urban challenges. If you’ve built something in micromobility, sustainable infrastructure, circular economy, or urban systems, NYC offers a fertile testing ground for real pilot programs and long-term partnerships.

We’ll connect you directly to the stakeholders—from city agencies with actual budgets to innovation labs with testing capabilities to urban tech networks that can amplify your impact. Our goal can help you secure concrete partnerships that drive your growth.
