You’re probably wondering: can I use this equipment in the park near me? The answer is yes, Caliring was developped with this idea in mind: training anywhere independently. In recent years, there’s been a growing demand for at home fitness equipment, which can easily be explained by the numerous Covid-19-related lockdowns and growing trends regarding a healthy lifestyle.

When asked what the mission behind Caliring was, the founder Benedikt declared: “We want to motivate everyone to challenge themselves to elevate their physical and mental strength, so that they can become and love the best version of themselves.” At MotionLab.Berlin, we strive to provide a profitable working environment for people who want to contribute to making a positive, which is particularly true for Caliring.

After joining MotionLab.Berlin in 2021 as a professional member, Benedikt entered our MakeUp Hardtech Innovation program in march 2022, and was finally able to focus on his project full-time. Since partnering with Angeliz de Oliveira Herholz and Fernanda Elise Castillo, they managed to bring passion into a a viable venture and created an implicated community, making their first prototypes completely operational!

But what exactly is the Caliring and how was it developed?

“The Caliring is a combination of a gymnastics ring and a push up handle to get a portable and multi-use training device to use anywhere for all hanging exercises and pressing exercises on the floor.” says Ben.

Before being the sleek and ergonomic product that it is, Benedikt first started at home with a 3D printer: He wanted to create a training ring that wouldn’t have a strap inside the ring, which can cause bruises or burnt skin. He later added a paralete (similar to a push-up bar, generally lower to the ground) as well as a quick-release buckle which completely changed his first prototype: now you would be able to use the Caliring in even more different ways!
