Get to know artist and designer Kim Sørensen and his Tiny Factory and olive oil lamps.
Tiny houses are on everyone’s mind, but have you ever heard of the Tiny Factory?
Kim Sørensen designed and created a portable half-cubic meter factory, his own Tiny Factory. Why? Because he needed affordable, mobile and modifiable space to build his own product, an olive oil lamp.
“The factory contains all tools and materials necessary to manufacture 40 lamps from start to finish. This will greatly reduce my monthly fixed costs and will allow me to focus on establishing efficient manufacturing techniques”.
RECENT WORKS - TINY FACTORY & OLIVE OIL LAMP
We met Kim with his Tiny Factory and he told us all about his olive oil lamp and artwork.
Kim is a Designer and Artist at MotionLab.Berlin, but also works as a Metallbauer for our member startup Velofracht GmbH. His olive oil lamp works with normal household oil instead of paraffin oil. Indeed most oil lamps work with paraffin oil, which is a petroleum-based oil, a slightly cleaner version of Kerosine. Olive oil instead is the cleanest burning oil which is currently available.
We met Kim with his Tiny Factory. In the video interview, he explains how he built the oil lamp, what machines he used and how the Tiny Factory looks like.
